Is Makula HACCP, SQF, or BRCGS certified?
No, Makula itself is not HACCP, SQF or BRCGS-certified; those certify the plant, not the software. Makula supports your program by keeping maintenance and sanitation records audit-ready.
How does Makula schedule sanitation and CIP cycles?
Sanitation cycles are first-class objects in Makula. Master Sanitation Schedules, CIP cycles, wet and dry sanitation tasks, and chemical-usage logging run on the same calendar as mechanical PMs. Each cycle captures who completed it, when, chemical concentration, temperature, and sensor data from integrated CIP skids. Allergen changeovers can be configured as dedicated SSOP variants.
Does the Makula mobile app work in wet zones and cold rooms?
Yes. The Makula mobile app works fully offline and syncs when devices return to Wi-Fi or cellular range. It's used on IP-rated rugged devices like Zebra and Honeywell handhelds. Technicians can complete work orders, capture photos, and apply e-signatures inside wet zones, freezers, and cold rooms, no signal required.
Can Makula track CIP cycles and sanitation chemical usage?
Yes. Makula ingests CIP cycle data from CIP skid controllers via OPC-UA or REST and logs every flush with chemical ID, concentration, temperature, flow rate, and duration. Cycles that fall outside validation spec are automatically flagged. Sanitation chemical inventory is tracked in the same parts module as mechanical spares.
Does Makula support FSMA 204 traceability?
FSMA 204 requires food-lot traceability via Critical Tracking Events and Key Data Elements, a product/lot system, not a CMMS. Makula keeps equipment maintenance and sanitation records that support overall audit readiness, but does not provide FSMA 204 lot traceability.
Can Makula connect to SCADA, MES, and SAP?
Yes. Makula has a native SAP connector for ERP master data and cost posting, MES integrations via OPC-UA or REST, and a full REST API for everything else. F&B plants typically ingest runtime counters from SCADA to auto-generate meter-based PM work orders — for example, triggering a CIP every 8 production hours rather than every calendar day.
How long does Makula deployment take at an F&B plant?
A single-plant F&B deployment takes weeks, not quarters. Implementation includes migrating your asset list and PM schedules from Excel, SAP PM, Fiix, or MaintainX; configuring your line and CIP hierarchy; loading SSOPs and HACCP CCP tags; and on-site training for maintenance and sanitation teams. Multi-plant rollouts are scoped jointly based on site count and integration depth.
