The cv.SINGULATE is a standalone material flow system for singulating object bulks into a single object flow. Objects enter the cv.SINGULATE from the inbound conveyor in a bulk. They travel side by side in a chaotic pattern. They may not be stacked upon each other. Once the objects enter the celluveyor, they are descrambled; the bulk of objects is taken apart. Afterwards, parcels are singulated by creating additional distance between the parcels. During transfer to the outbound conveyor, the objects are rotated so that the short side is always facing the transport direction – short side leading (SSL). Optionally, they can be transferred with the long side facing the transport direction – long side leading (LSL). At the outbound the objects are aligned at the outbound conveyors. All information needed for the singulation process is acquired with the vision sensors. For this reason, the cv.SINGULATE does neither require a connection to the high-level warehouse control software systems nor information about the object sizes. By performing the descrambling, singulation, rotation, and alignment operations in one omnidirectional conveyor, the cv.SINGULATE is the smallest and most efficient system of its kind.
